Goals
- Improve the understanding of coastal ecosystems and human influences on them.
- Improve environmental literacy in our communities to enable environmentally-sustainable decision making.
- Educate on the importance of creating more effective marine protected areas.
- Demonstrate sustainable stewardship of the land and water ecosystems within the reserves to serve as a model for community stewardship.
- Foster dialogue and development of coastal ecosystem management solutions through sustained community engagement.
- Create environmental awareness through underwater imaging
Objectives
- Provide scuba and underwater image training to 100 environmental leaders in 2012
- Establish our Environmental programs in four continents.
- Provide training to marine park’ rangers in Sumbawa, Indonesia
- Partner with green energy projects in El Hierro Island, Spain
- By 2012, start training in Zanzibar, East Africa
