How to get there: There are a few airlines that have direct flights from Europe to Zanzibar. But most airlines arrive to Dar Salaam International Airport. From there you fly in a small carrier to Zanzibar International Airport. There are alos frequent flights between Nairobi and Mombasa to Zanzibar. ZanAir and Coastal Air are the two airlines that service local connections to Zanzibar.
Immigration: Most part of the nationalities has to pay a US $50 visa on arrival. American citizens sometimes are charged up to US $100. Don’t get pissed, it won’t help. The visa is usually valid for three months. Check the last updates on visas. Expect some lines in the airport and don’t plan any time tight flight connection.
Arrival-departure: We will greet you at the Zanzibar International Airport to transport you the 50 minute ride to your hotel in Jambiani. You need to arrive at least one day in advance of the course start date. Transportation from the airport to your hotel is included.
Important safety rule: Departure should be at least 24 hours after your last dive to reduce the risk of decompression sickness.
